Every morning, the cast and crew climbed a volcano. The hike took almost an hour. Chris Evans and Anya Taylor-Joy at the top, looking out across the Aegean, waiting for Romain Gavras to call action. "You're just looking around at the majesty of the world," Evans told Variety. "It's easy to completely lose yourself, as you would if there weren't a film crew capturing your every move."

It took fourteen months. That is how long David Lowery filmed his epic pop melodrama – a production that began in May 2023, paused, returned, and finally wrapped on July 20, 2024. Mother Mary was filmed primarily in and around Cologne and Bonn in Germany's North Rhine-Westphalia, with concert scenes filmed at Hyde Park in London.

The Highlander reboot – directed by Chad Stahelski (John Wick), starring Henry Cavill as immortal Scottish warrior Connor MacLeod – started principal photography on January 28, 2026, in Scotland, after Cavill sustained a leg injury during pre-production training in late 2025 that pushed the original September 2025 start date into early 2026. Filming has since moved across Scotland, London, Poland, Italy and Hong Kong.

He directed it. He co-wrote it. He stars in it. And when the script called for gunfire and a chase through Los Angeles' iconic concrete storm drain system, Ben Affleck was in the tunnels himself. Principal photography began on March 7, 2025, in Los Angeles, wrapping on April 16 – forty days of filming entirely within Los Angeles, followed by a brief additional shoot in the summer.

The Woods – an eight-episode limited series adapting Harlan Coben's 2007 novel – is now in production in Manchester and the North West of England. Filming kicked off on April 28, beginning in Bolton, with the rest of the series also filming throughout the North of England.

He described it himself as "a wholesome show about condoms, co-parenting, and cosplay." Brett Goldstein – Roy Kent of Ted Lasso – is now a divorced Manhattan dad who accidentally becomes a male escort. And he is filming the whole thing on the actual streets of New York City.

Colleen Hoover's psychological thriller begins with a woman covered in blood on a street in New York. The movie Verity, based on this book, didn't use a fake street to film this scene, but a real one, right outside Grand Central Terminal in New York City.
