Elisabeth Moss goes to court in New York: The filming locations of Conviction

The Handmaid's Tale ended in 2025. The Testaments premiered in April 2026. And now Elisabeth Moss comes back on Hulu for a third time – this time as a criminal defense attorney navigating blackmail, murder and moral compromise on the streets of New York. Principal photography ran from June 8 to September 29, 2026, entirely across New York City, under the working title Gordie.
Conviction is a legal thriller based on the 2023 novel by Jack Jordan, written and executive produced by David Shore – the creator of House and developer of The Good Doctor. Moss stars as Neve Harper, a confident defense attorney who finally lands her career-making case: defending a man accused of killing his wife by setting their home on fire. When a mysterious stranger begins blackmailing Neve, she is forced to compromise every legal, moral and ethical obligation to gain an acquittal – or risk her dark secrets being exposed.
Moss executive produces alongside Shore, Warren Littlefield and Bert Salke. The cast includes Sebastian De Souza, Adam Godley and José Zúñiga. Seth Gordon directs.
Elisabeth Moss and Sebastian De Souza were spotted on location at Foley Square near the Chambers Street Subway Station in Lower Manhattan – one of the most specifically legal addresses in New York, the civic plaza flanked by the federal courthouse, the New York County Courthouse and the Thurgood Marshall Federal Courthouse.
The production also shot scenes on the steps of the New York County Supreme Court at 60 Centre Street – the neoclassical courthouse whose columned facade and broad stone steps have appeared in more legal dramas, crime films and television procedurals than almost any other building in America.

On September 16, the production moved to the Astoria neighbourhood in Queens – filming near 21st Avenue and 21st Street/45th Avenue. Production notices confirmed the shoot under the working title Gordie.
No premiere date has been announced.
