Helen and Sam are back: The season 2 filming locations of Black Doves in London – and Paris

Keira Knightley was filmed running across the Strand – one of London's most historic thoroughfares – with the distinctive elliptical Portland stone tower of St Mary le Strand visible in the background. She runs toward Somerset House, where she gets into a fight at what appears to be some kind of art exposition. Somerset House featured prominently in season 1 as well.

The South Bank – used extensively in season 1 for the opening assassination sequence – returns in season 2 for sweeping outdoor tracking shots and pedestrian walkway sequences. The Golden Jubilee Bridge is confirmed in the season 2 footage alongside the riverside walkway that production previously filmed on five occasions in the first season, always before 8am or between midnight and 3am.

The crew filmed on Great Windmill Street in Soho, with the neon sign reading "Tables & Dancing" of the Windmill Club visible in the background. The Windmill – the legendary Soho venue whose history stretches back to the 1930s – gives the scene a specific underground London nightlife character.

Scenes were filmed on John Adam Street in the Adelphi area of central London. Number 8 John Adam Street is one of the most frequently used stand-ins for 10 Downing Street in British film and television – the actual residence of the Prime Minister being inaccessible due to security restrictions.

The residential neighbourhood of Crystal Palace in south London was chosen for the primary family home exterior – continuing the show's established pattern of rooting its domestic world in real south London communities while setting the story's stated geography further north. 

The Royal Lancaster Hotel on Lancaster Terrace was used for high-end hotel interior and bar settings. In the trailer, cars drive up the lane of Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa in Luton – the Georgian mansion estate whose grand interiors also feature in season 2. Luton Hoo has appeared in Eyes Wide Shut, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Bridgerton.

One shot in the trailer shows Tottenham House – the grand 19th-century country house located in Savernake Forest near Marlborough in Wiltshire. 

The trailer confirms a Paris chapter: Keira Knightley walks into the lobby of the Hôtel Plaza Athénée at 25 Avenue Montaigne in the 8th arrondissement – one of the most prestigious hotel addresses in France, its iconic red awnings on the Avenue Montaigne immediately recognisable.

Black Doves season 2 premieres on Netflix on November 5, 2026
