Season 1 filmed across California. Season 2 went to different continents. The production’s wrap post said it all: “From South Africa to North America to Morocco, the cast and crew pushed the limits to bring book 2, True Believer, to life.” The Terminal List season 2 premieres on Prime Video on October 21, 2026 – four years after the first season, seven months of filming under the working title Kestrel.
Season 2 is based on Jack Carr’s novel True Believer. A terrorist attack in London pulls James Reece back into the fight and onto the trail of a former ally turned enemy. The story shifts from season 1’s personal revenge to a globe-trotting espionage plot across three continents and eight episodes. Chris Pratt returns as Reece. Constance Wu returns as journalist Katie Buranek. Dar Salim plays Mohammed “Mo” Farooq. David DiGilio continues as head writer.
Filming ran from March to October 2025, starting in South Africa, moving through Toronto and Washington DC, and ending in Morocco.

The production went into South Africa in March 2025. In early May, filming took place on location in Hoedspruit and Cape Town. Scenes were shot in the bushveld around Hoedspruit – the small town in Limpopo province, on the edge of the Greater Kruger area. Local production teams kept the specific bushveld and wildlife property locations confidential during active filming.
Hoedspruit is not a newcomer to international productions – it previously served as a filming location for Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible franchise.

Toronto filming ran from May 5 to August 20, 2025, with the city serving as the North American production hub. In May, locals reported filming around St Lawrence Market on Market Street – between The Esplanade and Front Street – featuring exterior action and special effects sequences in one of Toronto’s most characterful historic neighbourhoods.
In mid-July, the production moved to the University of Toronto Scarborough campus. Students reported on social media that Chris Pratt was walking around UTSC’s campus for filming.
Some on-location shooting also took place in Washington DC – specific Washington DC locations have not been publicly confirmed.
Producer Karim Debbagh told SNRT News that five of the eight episodes were filmed across Morocco. Production began in Marrakesh in early July 2025, continued in Casablanca and was scheduled to finish in Tangier toward the end of September.
The crew’s first week of Morocco filming took them high into the Atlas Mountains above Marrakesh, near the town of Asni. The Marrakesh area and the Atlas Mountains, and other locations in Morocco double for Syria, Eastern Europe and Greece. Reports seem to confirm that Tangier – Morocco’s northern port city – doubled for Beirut.
The series joined The Odyssey and The Agency among the major 2025 productions to use the country’s geographic and architectural range for international story environments.
The Terminal List season 2 premieres on Prime Video on October 21, 2026.
