The production had a difficult birth. Originally announced in 2022, Blade Runner 2099 was due to begin pre-production at Belfast Harbour Studios in Northern Ireland before the WGA writers' strike halted everything in May 2023 and the Belfast plans were scrapped entirely in October. When cameras finally rolled, they did so in Prague – June 2024, Barrandov Studio. And on location in Prague and Catalonia, Spain.

The Catch opens in cinemas on May 21, 2027. It has been described as "Bull Durham meets Notting Hill, with Stone playing the most hated woman in baseball." Principal photography runs from June through October 2026, across New York and Washington State.

Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol – Ti West's gothic reimagining of Dickens' 1843 novella starring Johnny Depp was filmed in England and Ireland. Principal photography began in early January 2026 in London and Dublin, with production confirmed underway in the UK by Screen Daily in February. Filming has since completed – as of July 24, the production is in editing and post-production, with visual effects work underway.

There is a scene in Couture where Anyier Anei is being fitted for her first Paris runway outing. The building they are in – Chanel headquarters – is, for the first time in the history of fictional cinema, open to a film crew.

The eight-episode boxing crime drama – executive produced by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson – was filmed at the brand new Eastbrook Studios in East London and across locations in Barking, Dagenham and beyond. Principal photography took place in Newham, East London, in 2025.

Somewhere in suburban Atlanta, a street was dressed for the 1980s to film David Robert Mitchell's The End of Oak Street. Principal photography ran ten weeks across Atlanta, London and New Orleans, with Atlanta providing the suburban realism, London providing the soundstage interiors and the VFX infrastructure to put dinosaurs inside them, and New Orleans finishing the picture.

Director Evan Miller had a simple and uncompromising rule for his debut feature: film where the story actually happens. The scenic landscapes and small-town streets of Southwest Texas became the canvas for Due West, with production spanning Alpine, Marfa and Marathon. The film was also shot in Wimberley, Texas, in winter 2024.

The Chain Bridge in Budapest was closed on February 9, 2025, while a stuntman hung from a helicopter above the Danube. Two weeks later, John Cena was posting Instagram videos from the streets of Casablanca. Two months after that, high-speed explosions were detonating on a sealed section of Slovakia's D1 motorway. Matchbox: The Movie – the Apple TV+ action comedy based on Mattel's toy car franchise, filmed across four countries in the first half of 2025.

Season 2 – all eight episodes, on Netflix – follows the friends navigating grief one uncomfortable holiday at a time. Filming took place primarily across upstate New York, the Jersey Shore in New Jersey, and Trento in northern Italy. Production began in late September 2025 and wrapped in early 2026.

No press release, no acknowledgement, not even a working title. And yet for months – from August 2025 to February 2026 – Greta Gerwig filmed one of the most ambitious productions in Netflix history across the streets of London, Manchester and Bradford.
