Down the Shore, up to the Catskills and all the way to Italy: Where The Four Seasons season 2 was filmed
The Four Seasons (season 2)
Season 2 — all eight episodes, on Netflix — follows the friends navigating grief one uncomfortable holiday at a time. Filming took place primarily across upstate New York, the Jersey Shore in New Jersey, and Trento in northern Italy. Production began in late September 2025 and wrapped in early 2026.
"These are not people with bottomless wallets who go to crazy places," creator Tina Fey says. "They go to their friends' house for Thanksgiving, and they drive upstate to hike. We assumed the Jersey Shore was Jack and Kate's pick of where they always go. Then Italy is our splurge trip."

The Catskills and Lake Oscawana, Putnam County
Season 2 opens with the group driving up to the Catskills to scatter Nick's ashes on his favourite hiking trail. Things quickly go sideways, and they find themselves stranded at the fictional Midnight Ramble motel. In reality, these scenes were filmed at the Blue Fox Motel in Narrowsburg, New York — a property with retro Americana aesthetics, colourful cabin-style rooms and mid-century charm. Jorge Neves, one of the owners of the Blue Fox Motel, told The River Reporter that the production team called before a script was written. The production reportedly dressed the motel to appear slightly more rundown for the show.
The lake house sequences were filmed at Lake Oscawana in Putnam County, upstate New York — the same body of water used for lake scenes in season 1.

Ocean Grove and Point Pleasant Beach
Episodes three and four — titled "Down the Shore" and "On the Boardwalk" — follow the group on a Jersey Shore summer trip. The show says they are in Point Pleasant Beach. The production reality is more layered. The beach scenes and the boardwalk walking sequences were filmed in Ocean Grove. The boardwalk scenes were filmed at Jenkinson's Boardwalk and Martell's Tiki Bar in Point Pleasant Beach. T
The production staging for the Shore shoot operated out of the Fort Monmouth area in Monmouth County — the former military base where Netflix is currently building a massive production complex, with soundstages targeted for 2027 and 2028. Fort Monmouth is quietly becoming the anchor of Netflix's New Jersey infrastructure. The Four Seasons was among its first productions to use the site as a base.
Trento and Civezzano, Italy
In episodes seven and eight the group takes their big trip to Trento — the capital of Trentino, tucked between the Dolomites and Lake Garda. Four specific locations are confirmed. The Piazza del Duomo, the city's grand central square dominated by its 13th-century cathedral and the Fountain of Neptune, features in winter street scenes. Buonconsiglio Castle — the ancient fortified residence of Trento's Prince-Bishops on the eastern edge of the old town — appears in the background of the Alpine sequences. Osteria a le Due Spade on Via Don Arcangelo Rizzi, one of the oldest restaurants in Italy at 580 years old, hosted a character dinner scene. And the city's Christmas market, filmed in full seasonal operation, gives the Italian episodes their warmth and festive texture.
The nearby village of Civezzano — a small hilltop community a few kilometres east of Trento, its church, piazza and surrounding vineyard landscape providing additional intimate Italian texture — also features in the Italian episodes.
The Four Seasons season 2 is streaming now on Netflix.
