Where was Primetime filmed? Robert Pattinson caught a predator in New Orleans

Primetime

The working title was Bluefin Tuna, LLC. That was the first sign that something unusual was being made. The second sign was Robert Pattinson — in a blazer, with a microphone, looking disturbingly comfortable — walking into a house in New Orleans to confront a man who had no idea what was about to happen. Filming took place from February 26 to March 28, 2025, in New Orleans.

Primetime is A24's biographical crime thriller about the origin story of Chris Hansen's To Catch a Predator — the Dateline NBC programme that became one of the defining true-crime spectacles of the early 2000s.

The film — with Robert Pattinson producing and starring as Hanse — gets its world premiere in main competition at the 83rd Venice Film Festival in September 2026, and opened in US cinemas on September 25. A worldwide A24 theatrical release followed.

New Orleans

According to a casting call, filming took place from mid-February until late March 2025 throughout the New Orleans, Louisiana region — a shoot of approximately six weeks that moved across multiple neighbourhoods and districts of the city.

The choice of New Orleans for a story about To Catch a Predator is a creative rather than a strictly geographical one: the original show filmed across multiple American cities and suburbs.

In March, 2025, Pattinson was spotted on set filming alongside Bridgers, Wever and Sean Bridgers.

According to Nola.com, the crew was spotted filming on the corner of Bourbon Street and St Ann Street in the French Quarter.

The production completed its final scenes in Algiers — the historic neighbourhood on the west bank of the Mississippi, directly across from the French Quarter. Special effects gunfire was used during the final shoot, with the controlled effects sequences taking place on the 10000 block of Patterson Road between 10pm and 2am on Thursday March 27, 2025 — one day before the scheduled March 28 wrap.

After its world premiere in main competition at the 83rd Venice Film Festival in September 2026, Primetime opens in cinemas on September 25, 2026.
