The 1962 Monaco Grand Prix is coming back: The filming locations of the Ocean's Eleven prequel

The untitled Ocean's Eleven prequel — written and directed by Bradley Cooper, who also stars alongside Margot Robbie — is filming in Paris and Monaco in August 2026, with a theatrical release scheduled for June 25, 2027. Warner Bros. confirmed the project at CinemaCon 2026.
Robbie confirmed the plot: the film follows the parents of Danny Ocean — the master thief played by George Clooney in the original trilogy — as they attempt an elaborate heist during the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix. Cooper writes, directs and plays opposite Robbie in their first collaboration despite years of near misses. Omar Sy, Wagner Moura, Monica Barbaro, Josh Gad and Benicio del Toro round out the cast.
Monaco
The production will take over sections of Darse Sud and the Esplanade des Pêcheurs in Monaco from August 23 to 28, with an official government notice published in the Journal de Monaco clearing parts of the waterfront. From 6pm on Sunday August 23, Darse Sud must be cleared of existing structures and activity to accommodate the production. Although the order does not identify the production by name, its dates correspond precisely with casting notices for the Ocean's prequel.
The story will see the pair attempt an elaborate heist during the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix, making the Principality central to the plot rather than simply serving as a glamorous backdrop. The production is expected to recreate Monaco during the era of Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace — when the 1962 Grand Prix was won by Bruce McLaren. Darse Sud is the southern harbour basin of Port Hercule — the same quays where the Formula One paddock and support infrastructure set up every May.

Paris and Nice
The Paris phase of filming was unveiled by a casting call seeking speaking roles for a one-day shoot scheduled on August 19, 2026 in the capital. No specific Paris location is provided in the listing, but the shoot confirms the French capital as part of the film's European geography.
The production is due to film in Nice as well as Monaco from late August.
The film opens in cinemas on June 25, 2027.
