The 1962 Monaco Grand Prix is coming back: The filming locations of the Ocean's Eleven prequel

The Paris phase of filming was already unveiled by a casting call seeking speaking roles for a one-day shoot scheduled on August 19, 2026 in the capital. 

But the day before, on August 18, Bradley Cooper, Monica Barbaro and Margot Robbie were spotted filming at the Gare de Lyon – one of Paris's great mainline railway stations, its grand Belle Époque facade and ornate interior instantly recognisable. Extras and surrounding dress were all period-accurate 1960s, placing the scene firmly in the era of the story.

On August 19, the production team, led by director Bradley Cooper, was spotted filming a scene featuring lead actors Manika Barra and Margot Robbie at Place Vendôme in Paris.

The production is due to film in Nice as well as Monaco from late August. 

From August 24, the Principality of Monaco was taken over street by street for one of the production's most ambitious location chapters. More than 300 extras in vintage costumes filled the filming locations from the first morning – Monaco dressed as itself in 1962, with Bradley Cooper and Margot Robbie playing the parents of Danny Ocean during the week of the Monaco Grand Prix. A portion of the Formula 1 circuit, including the famous tunnel, was closed to traffic for high-speed cinematography. Five days of filming. Dozens of streets. One very specific setting.

The schedule moved through Monaco's geography with military precision:

Monday August 24 – Port Hercule. Filming began around Boulevard Louis II and Avenue J.F. Kennedy — the heart of the harbour district, where the Formula 1 paddock sets up every May and where in 1962 the race infrastructure would have surrounded the waterfront in exactly the kind of glamorous chaos the film requires.

Tuesday August 25 – Monaco Centre. Cameras moved to the Sainte-Dévote roundabout — the first corner of the Monaco Grand Prix circuit, where drivers brake hard from the tunnel straight — alongside Avenue d'Ostende, the Porte Rouge, Avenue Princesse Alice, Boulevard des Moulins and Rue Suffren Reymond.

Wednesday August 26 – Monte-Carlo. The production took over Avenue des Spélugues, Avenue des Citronniers, Avenue Princesse Grace and Avenue de la Madone — the residential and commercial arteries of Monte-Carlo running between the Casino and the eastern residential districts.

Thursday August 27 – Casino Square. The centrepiece of the shoot: the Place du Casino — the most recognisable address in Monaco, its Belle Époque casino flanked by the Hôtel de Paris and the Café de Paris, the square that defines what Monte-Carlo means in the global imagination. Also filmed: Avenue de Monte-Carlo, Avenue d'Ostende, the Spélugues, Avenue Princesse Alice, Avenue de la Costa and surrounding Monte-Carlo thoroughfares.

Friday August 28 – Larvotto and Portier. On the final day, the production moved east to the Larvotto beach district and the Portier section – where the circuit curves along the seafront – with Avenue Princesse Grace once again in the frame as the week's shooting concluded.

The geography of the five-day shoot traces the Monaco Grand Prix circuit itself, from the Port Hercule start line through Sainte-Dévote, Casino Square, the Spélugues tunnel stretch and around to the Portier corner above the sea. It is not a coincidence. The 1962 Grand Prix is the story's setting. The production filmed the actual road it drove on.

The film opens in cinemas on June 25, 2027.
