Here's where The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth was filmed in and around Los Angeles

The production's most extensively documented location is the Highland Theatre at 5604 N. Figueroa Street in Highland Park – a 1925 design by L.A. Smith, closed since February 2024. The production used the theatre as a stand-in for a 1977 version of the New Beverly Cinema for exterior and lobby scenes.

Brad Pitt was spotted on the first night of filming standing in front of the Highland with a poster for the 1977 release Rollercoaster visible behind him. Figueroa Street between Avenue 55 and Avenue 57 – a two-block stretch centred on the Highland Theatre – was closed from 8pm to 6am for five consecutive nights beginning July 28. The production team gutted the lobby entirely: display cases, snack bar equipment, dropped ceiling and front doors all went into a dumpster.

The two-block transformation extended well beyond the theatre itself. The building across the street at 5605-07 was converted into a hardware store. The old bank building at 5601 – with Jeni's Ice Cream as a tenant – was redone as a Bank of America branch, complete with telephone booths waiting to be deployed at the corner. The Highland Park Masonic Temple had lights on the roof wrapped in white plastic. The Greyhound Bar & Grill at 5570 N. Figueroa had its signage covered and new period-appropriate benches installed out front. Parking meters on the blocks were removed for the shoot. A blue tarp concealed the mural on the side of the theatre.

In early August, the crew filmed scenes at Norm's Restaurant at 470 N. La Cienega Boulevard in West Hollywood. Norm's – the mid-century coffee shop chain whose googie architecture has been a fixture of Los Angeles since 1949 – is the kind of location that requires minimal dressing to look authentically 1977. The La Cienega location's original signage, its counter seating and its specific quality of Los Angeles diner light do the period work for the camera.

On August 4, filming took place along Marina Drive in Long Beach, directly across from Mother's Beach. Scenes consisted of driving shots and walk-and-talk sequences outside the condominiums along Marina Drive. 

The production was also spotted filming on location in Huntington Beach.

Brad Pitt is seen piloting a car at the Ventura Raceway – the track at the Ventura County Fairgrounds at 10 W. Harbor Boulevard in Ventura. A California Film Commission permit obtained through a public records request confirmed filming took place on October 15, 2025, depicting a demolition derby competition. The shoot spanned 17 total days – five days of active filming and 12 days of setup and tear-down – with approximately 125 cast and crew members and 50 extras. Active filming ran from October 13 to 19, with set dismantling scheduled from October 20 to 23.

The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth opens exclusively in IMAX on November 25, 2026, before streaming on Netflix on December 23.
