From the red carpet at Cannes to a Saint-Tropez Palace: Here's where The White Lotus Season 4 is filming
The White Lotus (Season 4)
Hawaii. Sicily. Thailand. The French Riviera is a logical next stop. The White Lotus season 4 began filming on April 15, 2026, across Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Monaco and Paris — the story following a new group of guests and staff at the White Lotus hotel over the course of a single week during the Cannes Film Festival.
Production runs through October 2026. A 2027 premiere is expected. Mike White created, wrote and directed the season, which he has described as "a bit more wickedly playful" with a theme focused on fame and the arts.
The season 4 location was chosen as part of an international competition that included interest from France, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Germany and Norway.

Airelles Château de la Messardière, Saint-Tropez
The Airelles Château de la Messardière in Saint-Tropez has been confirmed as a primary filming location, reimagined on screen as the White Lotus du Cap. It is a 19th-century palace converted into an 86-room hotel, set within 13 hectares of pines, cypress trees and jasmine, owned by Stéphane Courbit — the founder of Banijay Group, behind productions including Survivor, the show that launched Mike White's career as a contestant in 2018. Suites run from $3,000 to $8,000 per night. The hotel closed ahead of the shoot and was listed online as reopening on April 30.

Hotel Martinez, Cannes
The Hôtel Martinez on La Croisette in Cannes — renamed Lotus Blanc Cannes for the series — serves as the main set throughout the Cannes Film Festival sequences. Opened in 1929 and now a Hyatt property, the Art Deco celebrity favourite sits on the city's 2km palm-lined promenade overlooking the Bay of Cannes. Its address, its history and its particular combination of glamour and transactional showbusiness energy make it an ideal White Lotus property.
The Cannes Film Festival
The production team was on the ground during the entire Cannes Film Festival, which ran from May 12 to 23, with cast members expected to walk the actual red carpet at least once. On May 19, footage surfaced of Alexander Ludwig filming scenes directly at the festival — one of the first cast members confirmed for the season. Laura Dern was also spotted on set in Cannes on May 26. The iconic Palais des Festivals et des Congrès also features prominently.
Scenes are also being shot in Monaco and Paris — but the plot remains focused on the Côte d'Azur.
The White Lotus season 4 premieres in 2027 on HBO and Max.
