Where was The Catch filmed? From Citi Field to a pink house on Norman Avenue in Greenpoint
The Catch
Described as "Bull Durham meets Notting Hill, with Stone playing the most hated woman in baseball," The Catch opens in cinemas on May 21, 2027. Principal photography began in July 2026 and runs through October, across New York, the Hudson Valley and Washington State.
The premise is very Emma Stone. A baseball fan catches a home run ball at the wall, accidentally turning it into a foul – costing her team the World Series championship. What follows is a spiralling mix of guilt, unwanted fame and the peculiar misery of becoming the unintended face of a catastrophic defeat.
The cast assembled around Stone and Pine is formidable: Ashley Padilla plays Stone's sister. Druski plays her character's bodyguard. Tim Robbins plays Stone's father – the Bull Durham connection made literal. Sissy Spacek, Chris Fleming and Irina Shayk complete the ensemble. Dave McCary – Stone's husband – directs in his sophomore feature after Brigsby Bear.
The production's most specific confirmed location is Citi Field in Flushing, Queens – home of the New York Mets. The film crew first shot footage there during the Mets' series against the Boston Red Sox from July 10 to 12 – real games, real players. Then on July 25, Mets star Juan Soto filmed a cameo – a scene of him exiting the dugout – with Stone also in the stands to watch the Mets host the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Brooklyn has emerged as the production's most sustained on-location chapter. The most specific confirmed Brooklyn address is Norman Avenue in Greenpoint – with behind-the-scenes images showing the famous pink house at 61 Norman Avenue clearly visible in the background as Stone and Pine filmed scenes on the street.
On September 11, Stone and Pine were spotted filming a kiss scene on a Friday night in Brooklyn. Earlier the same day, Stone filmed gardening scenes while getting notes from director McCary. The Brooklyn location work extends back through August, when Stone filmed alongside Tim Robbins and Ashley Padilla in the borough, with Pine and Druski also spotted in the area around the same time.
Around September 13, the production filmed at the South Street Seaport in Lower Manhattan – the historic waterfront district on the East River whose 19th-century mercantile buildings, wooden piers and views across to Brooklyn Bridge give it a visual character entirely unlike the rest of downtown Manhattan.
Yellow production signs appeared in Dutchess County in the Hudson Valley under the code name Keychain – confirmed by local sources as The Catch
Washington State is confirmed as the production's second major location – its Pacific Northwest character providing a visual and emotional contrast to New York's baseball intensity.
The Catch opens in cinemas on May 21, 2027.
