The Gentlemen goes to Morocco: The first confirmed filming locations for Season 3

The Gentlemen (season 3)

Season 2 of The Gentlemen premiered globally on Netflix on September 3, 2026. Ten days later, cameras were already rolling on season 3 – in Morocco. Production for season 3 of Guy Ritchie's Netflix crime series began in Rabat on Sunday, September 13, according to local reports, with Erfoud also selected for scenes during the Morocco shoot.

Theo James – who plays Edward "Eddie" Horniman, the Duke of Halstead reluctantly at the centre of a cannabis empire – confirmed filming was about to start just days before cameras rolled, telling ScreenRant that production was happening "almost imminently" and teasing a darker story, new locations, and additional characters. "Going to different locations," James said – and Morocco is the first of those confirmed.

Rabat

Rabat – Morocco's capital city on the Atlantic coast at the mouth of the Bou Regreg river – gives the production an extraordinary visual range. Its UNESCO-listed medina, the Kasbah of the Udayas overlooking the ocean, the Hassan Tower, and the Royal Palace are the kind of locations a season 3 storyline moving into darker, more international territory would logically find. But no specific filming locations can be confirmed.

Erfoud

Erfoud – the gateway town to the Saharan dunes of Erg Chebbi in southeastern Morocco – provides something entirely different. Its position on the edge of the desert, its palm-lined oasis character and the Saharan landscapes stretching south give the production its most visually extreme and geographically remote environment.

Erfoud has appeared in major international productions before – The Mummy, Spectre and the Matchbox: The Movie production used the surrounding area's geological drama.

Season 2 premiered September 3. Season 3 began filming September 13. Guy Ritchie moves fast. A 2028 Netflix premiere is the most realistic expectation – though no official release date has been announced.
