Stanford was built in Montreal — and at Caltech: Here's where The Love Hypothesis was filmed

 The most important confirmed location is Concordia University's Loyola Campus at 7141 Sherbrooke Street West – a fact confirmed by Concordia itself, which announced that Prime Video had transformed parts of Loyola into Stanford University for the production.

The transformation went considerably deeper than changing signs outside buildings. Production designer Elise de Blois – herself a Concordia graduate – returned to the campus to reshape familiar spaces for Olive and Adam's academic world. The cafeteria was converted for the production. A large library environment was created to resemble the kind of space you might find at a university like Stanford. The Department of Biology actively assisted the filmmakers – particularly valuable for a film centred on scientists and graduate research rather than a conventional college romance with little interest in what its characters actually study.

Viewers watching Olive navigate what appears to be Stanford are looking at a university more than 2,500 miles away in Montreal. The corridors, the campus buildings, the academic environment – all Loyola, dressed as California.

Montreal was not the only university used to build Stanford. The production filmed for approximately a week at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, turning another real scientific institution into part of Olive's fictional campus.

Caltech's student newspaper confirmed filming at multiple locations across the university – including Kerckhoff Laboratories, Bechtel Mall and the Caltech Hall Pond. Caltech officials explained that productions regularly approach the university when they need architecture capable of representing another prestigious college.
