New York played Washington DC: Here's where NBC's Line of Fire was filmed

Line of Fire

After eight seasons in Los Angeles filming 9-1-1, Peter Krause made a very deliberate geographic shift. With Line of Fire filming on the East Coast, he is calling New York City home. The change of scenery is not incidental – the show is set in Washington DC and its surrounding federal world, and New York is building it street by street.

Line of Fire is an American family action thriller series created by Joshua Safran and produced by Universal Television for NBC, premiering September 21, 2026, at 10pm ET. It centres on the Hollingsworth family, whose members span the full architecture of American federal law enforcement: Secret Service, U.S. Marshals, FBI and the Department of Justice. When a case turns into a conspiracy, they must protect each other.

Peter Krause plays Secret Service agent Mike Hollingsworth. Hope Davis plays U.S. Marshal Jane Hollingsworth. Their three adult children – played by Tommy O'Brien, Kat Cunning and Taylor Bloom – round out the ensemble, with Charlie Barnett and guest stars Sam Waterston, Chris Chalk and Campbell Scott completing the cast.

Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn

Production has taken place across Manhattan at multiple locations. Film crews were spotted filming near Columbus Circle – with a filming notice confirming a scheduled shoot there on Tuesday September 15. Chelsea also hosted production activity, with the show using the neighbourhood's varied urban character for street-level scenes. On September 21 and 22, a casting call search people to attend a gala – suggesting a high-end formal event sequence in one of Manhattan's upscale settings.

Production moved to Whitestone in Queens on September 8, with filming taking place near 14th Avenue and 150th Street.

A casting call confirms filming in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, on Wednesday September 16.

Yonkers and New City

On July 24, the production filmed on Lockwood Avenue in Yonkers – specifically at  Agar Street. Yonkers, just north of the Bronx.

Cast and crew filmed on July 20 at 1 Cavalry Drive in New City, Rockland County – confirmed by an ISO Rockland Facebook post. New City is the seat of Rockland County, its civic and residential environments providing the suburban American world the Hollingsworth family inhabits outside their federal roles.

The Theodore Roosevelt Building, Mineola

The trailer reveals a specific location choices: what appears to be a government building in Washington DC is actually the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building at 1550 Franklin Avenue in Mineola, New York – the Nassau County seat of government.

The building previously stood in for the Capitol in Person of Interest. Its neoclassical architecture and institutional gravitas make it a convincing DC substitutes available within driving distance of New York City.
