Rye is Meryton, and the town went all in. The crew spent several days dressing Market Street and Mermaid Street. Filming began on Monday, September 8 and ran for three days.
Market Street filled with horses, carts and carriages. A pen held sheep and goats, and stalls with household wares and flowers. The small house next to the town hall on the corner of Church Square became the Cross Keys Inn.
Monday and Tuesday were sunny. On Wednesday the snow machines appeared, and now the working title made sense. Filming moved to Mermaid Street and outside the Ypres Tower. Snow on cobbles, in a town that already looks like 1813.
From September 10 to 12, 2025, the production filmed on Beach Street, the pier, the promenade and the streets of Deal. A closed-down pub, identified as the Three Compasses, was turned into a Regency coaching inn. The crew used historic signage, props and notices pasted to the walls, and the empty building came back to life. The production also filmed at Botany Bay in Broadstairs.
In early August 2025, Jack Lowden was spotted filming in Spitalfields. On August 8, the set took over Princelet Street, a historic road with an early Georgian townhouse. Videos online showed the street filled with extras in Regency dress and a horse-drawn carriage. A few steps from modern East London, the street went back two centuries.
The trailer shows scenes in the Long Gallery at Hatfield House in Hertfordshire. Robert Cecil, First Earl of Salisbury, built the house in 1611, and the Cecil family still lives there. It is currently home to the 7th Marquess of Salisbury and is open to the public.
Filming also took place at West Wycombe Park in Buckinghamshire. You can see the house and the surrounding Park in the trailer.
