Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein filming in Edinburgh

Frankenstein

Edinburgh's Royal Mile has been transported back in time as film crews work on Guillermo del Toro's upcoming “Frankenstein” adaptation for Netflix. The historic area around St Giles' Cathedral has been transformed with Victorian set pieces, including a gallows at Makar's Close.

Del Toro's reimagining of Mary Shelley's classic is being filmed across Scotland, with stars like Jacob Elordi, Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth, and Christoph Waltz bringing the story to life. Filming continues in Edinburgh until September 17th!

Dr. Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist, brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.
