A drugstore in Westfield and a bookstore in Montclair: Here's where In Love was filmed

Baron’s Drug Store at 243 Broad Street in downtown Westfield served as the production’s first publicly documented location. A notice went up at the pharmacy the week before, letting patrons know the store would be closed on October 20 for filming. The town’s Facebook page announced: “Hollywood arrives in Westfield!”

Bening and Clooney also filmed inside Vicki’s Diner on East Broad Street that same day. The diner opened in 1999 and sits in the same downtown stretch as Baron’s. Westfield is a suburban town in Union County, about 40 kilometres southwest of New York City.

Two days later, Clooney was spotted filming on Glenridge Avenue in Montclair – in front of Qi Qi Massage at 225 Glenridge Avenue, then walking up the block to the Montclair Book Center at 221. 

The Sloan Street parking lot, Papillion 25 and Village Marketplace were closed on October 27 for filming. Base camp was set up at the foot of Flood’s Hill. Clooney was photographed at the back entrance of Village Marketplace.

On October 30, the cast and crew filmed around Meadowbrook Lane in Orange, New Jersey.

South Orange Mayor Sheena Collum said filming is expected to run two to three weeks, through the third week of November, though “not every day.” Scenes will be shot in homes throughout South Orange and at locations in the downtown area.

Clooney and Bening are still filming. The story they are telling is about what happens when love is not enough to stop what is coming – and about the courage it takes to face that together.
