By the end of February, the production was ready to move. A social media post captured the moment: “They’ve spent the last 3.5 months in Los Angeles filming at Universal Studios, Sony Studios, Downtown LA and South Pasadena. Now they’ll wrap up this EPIC 3rd and final movie where it all began 10 years ago, Oahu.”
The primary confirmed Hawaiian location is Waimea Falls Park – also known as Waimea Valley – on Oahu’s North Shore. The production spent several days in early March 2026 filming jungle scenes there, with parts of the Waimea Valley walking path and the falls area temporarily closed during filming. Production code name Hamingju appeared on local basecamp and road signs throughout the shoot. A social media post on March 11 confirmed filming near Waimea Waterfalls.
In mid-March, the production filmed at the exact same jungle spot where Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle had filmed ten years earlier.
After Waimea, production moved to Kualoa Ranch – the 4,000-acre working cattle ranch on Oahu’s northeast coast whose dramatic valley and mountain backdrop has appeared in Jurassic Park, Jurassic World, Kong: Skull Island and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
Kalaeloa Airport on the island’s southwest side provided additional location work.
Jumanji: Open World opens in cinemas on December 25, 2026.
