From the English countryside to Lake Maggiore: The filming locations of The Gentlemen season 2

The Gentlemen (season 2)

Season one of The Gentlemen was a love letter to the English countryside — grand estates, cannabis farms hidden beneath Halstead Manor's manicured lawns, London's underworld lurking just beneath a very polished surface. Season two deliberately expands that world, moving from English country estates into the Italian lakes.

Production began in late April 2025, with Netflix officially confirming it in late May. It wrapped ahead of schedule in mid-to-late October 2025, earlier than the originally projected November end date.

Most of the production for season 2 once took place in London, which continues to serve as the central hub for Eddie Horniman's criminal empire, with multiple exterior scenes shot across different districts of the city, while interiors were filmed at large studio complexes and historic buildings.

The specific London districts and studio used for season 2 have not been fully confirmed, but the show's first season anchored itself in the city's full spectrum — from Canary Wharf to Clerkenwell, from Rotherhithe to Southwark — and there is no indication season two abandons that visual vocabulary.

Salisbury Cathedral

One of season two's most striking confirmed UK locations is Salisbury Cathedral in Wiltshire — one of the finest examples of Early English Gothic architecture in the world, completed in 1320 and home to the best-preserved original copy of Magna Carta. Its soaring spire, the tallest in Britain at 123 metres, has dominated the Wiltshire skyline for seven centuries.

Stoke Court, Stoke Poges

The production also filmed scenes at Stoke Court, a historic 15th-century manor located in the village of Stoke Poges. The estate served as an interior location representing parts of the Horniman estate and other aristocratic settings in the show.

Lake Maggiore and Verbania

The most prominent international filming location for season 2 is Lake Maggiore — located in northern Italy along the border of Switzerland.

The backdrop is Pallanza, in the territory of Verbania. Exterior filming concentrated on the area around Piazza Garibaldi, the Grand Hotel Majestic, and Via Vittorio Veneto, temporarily closed in sections during production. A temporary pier was also constructed in front of Villa Rusconi Clerici. Villa Rusconi Clerici is a neoclassical lakeside villa set in a formal Italian garden, its terraces descending directly to the water. Among the most striking images from the Italian shoot is a scene filmed with a Riva motorboat.

Filming in the Lake Maggiore area was scheduled to continue through the beginning of July 2025, with cast and crew based at the Grand Hotel Majestic during the Italian shoot.

The Gentlemen season 2 arrives on Netflix in fall 2026.
