Where was 72 Hours filmed? New Jersey played Miami — Almost perfectly

72 Hours

The story is set in Miami. The cameras were mostly in New Jersey. Netflix's 72 Hours — Kevin Hart's comedy about a 40-year-old executive accidentally added to a Gen Z bachelor party group chat — opens July 24, 2026, and pulls off a convincing geographic illusion. Filming ran from April through August 2025, across several New Jersey communities and a brief but essential stretch in actual Miami.

The Jersey Shore's affluent Elberon neighbourhood was used for filming the beach-house sequences. Film crews set up at a large oceanfront estate across from the Church of the Presidents — one of several grand properties in the area transformed into the bachelor party's Miami holiday base.

The production camps were established in the parking lots of Saint Stephanos Armenian Church at 1184 Ocean Avenue North and St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church nearby, giving the crew a base from which to operate across the Elberon beachfront. Long Branch's beaches were also used directly, dressed and lit to recreate the vibrant Miami Beach atmosphere.

Jersey City

On July 16, the production took over Liberty Landing Marina at 80 Audrey Zapp Drive in Jersey City — using a 200-foot vessel moored at the gas dock as the film's centrepiece yacht party location. Camera angles across the water, careful set dressing and the scale of the ship combined to produce a convincing Miami Beach marina sequence.

Elsewhere in Jersey City, the Victorian streetscape of the Van Vorst neighbourhood served as a further shooting location, with production crews also constructing a temporary subway entrance near Van Vorst Park.

The restaurant Battello in Jersey City also appears in the film — its modern waterfront dining room and skyline views transformed into an exclusive South Beach-style nightlife venue with dramatic lighting and party décor.

Hoboken

In late June, the production occupied two blocks of Hoboken — specifically the 900 block of Hudson Street and the stretch of Tenth Street between Washington and Hudson streets. The city's historic brownstone rows provided the domestic, slightly corporate urban texture of Joe's pre-bachelor-party existence, a visual world that contrasts sharply with everything that follows.

Miami, Florida

New Jersey carried the bulk of the production, but Miami itself appears throughout the film for the shots that needed to feel unmistakably Floridian. The Brickell financial district — glass towers, vibrant street life, waterfront energy — provided street-level scenes grounding the story in its Miami setting. South Beach's palm-lined streets, colourful architecture and famous coastline appear in additional establishing shots.

Filming wrapped in late summer 2025. 72 Hours premieres on Netflix on July 24, 2026.
