The Owens sisters left Coupeville: The filming locations of Practical Magic 2

The original Practical Magic was American through and through — visually, atmospherically, emotionally. The Owens house was a grand Gothic Victorian built specifically for the film on a bluff above Penn Cove in Coupeville, Washington, on Whidbey Island. It doesn't exist anymore, it was dismantled after filming wrapped. What remains is the bluff, the view, and a small town that has never quite gotten over the whole thing — and now celebrates an annual "Practically Magic Halloweekend" every October. The sequel doesn't go back. The Owens family travels to Europe, following the origins of their curse, and the production followed the story.

The heart of Practical Magic 2's production is Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden. Most of the film was made here, all interior scenes in a rebuilt Owens family house.

But not all of the London filming happened at Leavesden. Reports confirm filming in Worcester Park — a quiet suburban neighbourhood in the London Borough of Sutton, about twelve miles southwest of central London. Sandra Bullock was spotted filming here with Dianne Wiest, who returns as Aunt Jet Owens.

In the trailer we spotted a scene with Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock that was shot on Redcross Way in London, a narrow backstreet running south through Southwark towards London Bridge.

Xolo Maridueña — who plays one of the new generation of characters — filmed at Royal Hosptial Chelsea, on the grounds, on a bicycle.

And then there's the ruin. Old Wardour Castle in Wiltshire — hexagonal, 14th century, half-destroyed in the Civil War when its own owner blew up the walls to evict a Parliamentary garrison — is confirmed as a Practical Magic 2 filming location. The castle previously appeared in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Now it hosts the Owens family curse instead.

Practical Magic 2 opens in cinemas on September 11, 2026.
