The Morning Show (Season 5)
For four seasons, The Morning Show was set in New York City, and filmed almost entirely in Los Angeles. Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City for the UBA newsroom interiors. 611 Place in Downtown LA — a glass skyscraper on South Figueroa Street — as the UBA headquarters exterior. Season 5, which began production on February 23, 2026, and runs through July 29, is following the same formula — Los Angeles as the primary base — but with a New York chapter built in.
On June 25, Billy Crudup and Sean Hayes filmed scenes together in Central Park on the Bow Bridge. The two were spotted joking around between setups, which suggests either the scene is lighter than the gold urn Crudup holds implies or both actors are simply incapable of staying serious for long.
Mercer Street
Jennifer Aniston was spotted filming a scene on Mercer Street in SoHo — driving a silver Porsche through one of downtown Manhattan's most recognisable streets. Mercer Street runs through the heart of SoHo, its cobblestoned surface and cast-iron facades unchanged since the neighbourhood's 19th-century warehouse days.

Coney Island
Jennifer Aniston and Jon Hamm — confirming Hamm's involvement in season 5, previously unannounced — were spotted filming together on Coney Island. The seaside amusement district in Brooklyn, with its boardwalk, its century-old Wonder Wheel, its Nathan's Famous hot dog stand and its particular atmosphere of faded glamour and working-class joy, is about as far from the UBA newsroom as New York gets.
Whatever brings Alex Levy to Coney Island in season 5 — and whatever Jon Hamm's character means to her when she gets there — the location choice is deliberate. Coney Island is where New York goes when it wants to stop being serious. Whether The Morning Show allows that is another question.
Given the show's established two-year release pattern, the new season is expected to premiere in late 2027.
