Principal photography on Tangled Up in Blue began on June 22, 2026, in Porthcawl, Wales — a coastal town on the South Wales coast between Swansea and Cardiff. The film is directed by Welsh filmmaker Jamie Adams.
The official synopsis describes a story about Jake Stroud — a man who has spent forty years managing legends — who finds himself stranded at a hotel bar between an old flame and a lost soul, and is finally forced to manage the one thing he has always avoided: his own heart. Tarantino plays Stroud. Kylie Minogue plays the old flame.

Newton Church and the Saltwater Inn
The weekend shoot moved between Newton Church — where a funeral scene was filmed — and the Saltwater Inn on the seafront, where Minogue and Tarantino were spotted laughing and singing between takes. The Porthcawl Male Choir contributed to the singing during the church funeral sequence and the wake at the Saltwater Inn. One choir member described it on a local Facebook group as "an absolutely fantastic day."
The Saltwater Inn sits directly on Porthcawl's seafront, looking out over the Bristol Channel. It is the kind of place where you can hear the water from the bar. For a story about a man stranded between his past and his future, it is exactly the right kind of room.

Cardiff
Cast and crew have also been spotted in Cardiff, suggesting the production is using the Welsh capital for additional scenes alongside the Porthcawl coastal work.
The title, for what it's worth, is Tarantino's all-time favourite song — Bob Dylan's 1975 meditation on complicated love told from multiple shifting perspectives. It's Tarantino's second collaboration with Adams, following Only What We Carry, which premiered at Tribeca in June 2026.
