Ontario's lake country goes to summer camp: Netflix's Camped Out is filming
Camped Out
Production on Camped Out — a new YA comedy series co-produced by Netflix, BBC and CBC, produced by Blue Ant Studios — was announced on July 9, 2026, with filming already underway in Ontario, Canada. The CBC Media Centre announcement confirmed Ontario as the filming province and noted it joins other Netflix productions that have filmed there, including I Will Find You, Wayward and Ginny & Georgia.
The series follows three teenage slackers who escape repeating a year of high school by agreeing to work as counsellors at their guidance counsellor's financially strapped summer camp — where they provide bad advice, terrible survival skills, and abysmal role models, while also attempting to wreak havoc on a luxury yacht club across the lake.

Filming locations
No specific Ontario location has been named publicly — no camp, lake, town or region. Given the premise, a real summer camp somewhere in Ontario's lake country is the most logical expectation. Ontario's Muskoka region, Haliburton Highlands or Kawartha Lakes would all fit. But none of these have been confirmed.
It is very early days. The production announcement was made this week — July 9, 2026.
