New York holds its breath: A Quiet Place Part III is filming in the city that's never quiet

Krasinski was seen amid military vehicles and extras on May 10 in Chinatown, filming in and around the Manhattan Bridge, which connects Canal Street in Manhattan to Downtown Brooklyn. The Manhattan Bridge Arch and Colonnade — that grand, slightly overlooked Beaux-Arts gateway on Canal Street, built in 1912 — became the production's opening image.

Set photos show the neighbourhood transformed: military vehicles filling the street, debris scattered across the pavement, Chinatown stripped of its colour and noise and replaced with something wrong. Deeply, quietly wrong. It's one of the most recognisable corners of lower Manhattan. Seeing it like this is unsettling in a way that only real locations can be.

By late June, the production had moved south along the waterfront to the South Street Seaport district. Cillian Murphy has been photographed and filmed at Pearl Street, with behind-the-scenes footage and images circulating widely on social media. 

The 2024 prequel A Quiet Place: Day One was set in New York City during the early stages of the alien invasion, with the military evacuating civilians by boat from the South Street Seaport — the same area now being used for filming Part III. Krasinski is closing a circle. The Seaport is where the world of these films first met New York. It is apparently also where the trilogy ends...

Half july the crew filmed scenes in Durham, a small Greene County town, among others on Decker Lane. The lane was lined with trucks, trailers and a large tent for filming.

The film is scheduled for release by Paramount Pictures on July 28, 2027.
