Mark Ruffalo and Mahershala Ali are shutting down Delco — for filming season two of Task
Task (season 2)R
Brad Ingelsby grew up in Berwyn, Delaware County. He wrote Mare of Easttown about the place. He wrote Task about the place. And when season 2 of Task began filming on July 6, 2026, he brought it back to the same working-class Pennsylvania streets that have defined everything he has ever made for television. Creator Ingelsby has proudly called it a Delco story.
Season 2 pairs Mark Ruffalo's FBI agent Tom Brandis with a formidable new adversary and reluctant partner: Mahershala Ali as Philadelphia DEA agent Eddie Barnes, whose unit comes into direct conflict with Brandis' task force.
Before season 2 can be understood, season 1 needs to be. Task premiered on September 4, 2025, to a season finale that drew 4 million viewers in its first three days. It was filmed entirely on location across Philadelphia, Delaware County, Montgomery County, Chester County, and Bucks County, with further rural Pennsylvania locations including Coatesville and the dense forest of Wissahickon Valley Park — used for shootouts and chase sequences. Archbishop Carroll High School in Berwyn appeared throughout. The production invested $230 million into the regional economy over 177 days, hiring 777 Pennsylvanians as cast and crew.

Manayunk
One of the filming location for season 2 is Manayunk. Filming was scheduled for July 7 to 9, with notices posted around the neighbourhood warning residents of road closures to accommodate trailers, equipment vehicles, cast and crew. The specific no-parking restrictions confirm exactly where cameras were rolling:
On Wednesday July 8, from 6pm until Thursday July 9 at 10pm: Dupont Street between High Street and Smick Street; Baker Street between Dupont Street and Green Lane; Baker Street between Dupont Street and Mallory Street.
On Thursday July 9, from 6am to 1pm: Dupont Street between Smick Street and High Street.

Upper Darby and Drexel Hill
The production moved into Delaware County — specifically Upper Darby and Drexel Hill, the dense suburban communities just southwest of Philadelphia that formed the visual backbone of season 1. Sections of Woodland Avenue, Highland Avenue and Edmonds Avenue were closed with parking restrictions running from 8pm Wednesday through 8pm Thursday while Ruffalo and company filmed scenes in the same neighbourhoods as the first season.
No premiere date has been announced. Task season 2 is filming now.
