Jennifer Garner filmed on Nantucket: the real locations of The Five-Star Weekend

The Five-Star Weekend

"There once was a Jen on Nantucket." That's how Jennifer Garner announced it herself — an Instagram post in October 2025, captioning a collection of photos from the island with a nod to the famous limerick. It looked like a holiday. It was a film shoot for The Five-Star Weekend.

The Five-Star Weekend premiered July 9 on Peacock — all eight episodes at once. Based on the 2023 novel by Elin Hilderbrand, the series stars Jennifer Garner as Hollis Shaw, a famed food blogger and cook who loses her husband and invites women from different chapters of her life to her Nantucket beach house for a healing, complicated, revelatory weekend.

Gemma Chan, D'Arcy Carden, Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, and Timothy Olyphant fill out the cast. The production filmed on Nantucket for three weeks in September 2025, with interiors and additional scenes shot on soundstages in Los Angeles.

Showrunner Bekah Brunstetter was direct about the production's priorities: "We shot the majority in LA, and to allow us to shoot on Nantucket for three weeks, we had to make sure that we did a lot of our story here. We were on the beach, we were out to dinner, we were downtown."

The premiere was held at the Dreamland theater on Nantucket itself, with Hilderbrand in the audience. Tickets sold out in hours. Additional screenings were added on July 14, 15, and 16. For an island of 15,000 residents, this is the biggest thing to happen since the last Hilderbrand novel.

Siasconset

The emotional centre of the show — and the most specific fictional address in the series — is 'Sconset, the abbreviated local name for Siasconset, a village on Nantucket's eastern tip. Population: a few hundred.

Hollis's beach house is located in 'Sconset in the story, and the exterior was filmed on location in Nantucket — specifically on Eel Point Road and Wauwiner Road, where waterfront estates provided the right scale and setting. The interior of the beach house, however, was built on a soundstage in Los Angeles. Production filmed on Nantucket for three weeks, capturing the island's authentic atmosphere before returning to California to build the world inside Hollis's house.

Siasconset Village itself appears in Episode 3, when the women do a little retail therapy and head to a spa. Exterior shots were filmed on the island. The interiors of the spa and the stores were recreated on a soundstage.

Main Street and Downtown Nantucket

On September 22, 2025, several hundred people gathered on Main Street in downtown Nantucket to watch Garner, Hall, Sevigny, Chan and Carden film scenes in the Main Street area. Brunstetter told the Nantucket Current that they shot scenes on Main Street, at Bartlett’s Farm and outside of Cru, a popular seafood restaurant.

Cast and crew were working the historic Main street. There are no neon signs here. No modern franchises. No contemporary architecture interrupting the streetscape. Downtown Nantucket looks as it did two hundred years ago, and local ordinance ensures it stays that way.

Centre Street also features as a filming location — lined with luxury boutiques, art galleries, fine dining and beautifully preserved architecture. The Nantucket Boat Basin and the Wharves, where ferries and yachts come and go, served as backdrops for harbour-side scenes. Straight Wharf, where you step off the ferry directly into the island's commercial life, is the entry point the show uses to establish where Hollis's world is located.

And more on Nuntucket

CRU Oyster Bar at 1 Straight Wharf is one of the series' most specific real-world references. The oceanfront restaurant is mentioned in Episode 1 and used for a dining scene in Episode 5. The exterior was filmed on location. The interior dinner scene was recreated on a soundstage in Los Angeles.

Wicked Island Bakery at 7B Bayberry Court features in the series — its exterior shot on the island, its interior recreated elsewhere. Bartlett's Farm, described as the largest family-owned and operated farm on Nantucket and the definition of farm-to-table, also appears.

In Episode 4, Hollis and her friends head to The Roadhouse — a legendary Nantucket dive bar known for live music. It's their Saturday night on the island, and the scene was filmed on location. Stubby's, a diner at 8 Broad Street, is referenced in Episode 8, with Timothy Olyphant's character Jack mentioning it by name.

Okay, not everything was on Nantucket. The tennis court scenes in Episode 6 were filmed at a private club across the sound on Cape Cod — technically the mainland, though barely.
