From St Pancras to the Cotswolds: The real locations behind MobLand
MobLand (Season 1)
Production began in November 2024 and wrapped in March 2025 in London — only four days before the premiere. The supervising location manager was Steve Mortimore, a veteran of films from Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy to Ridley Scott's Napoleon, and his brief was clear from the start: don't copy The Gentlemen. The result is a show built on a precise geographic logic. The Harrigans live in the countryside and do their dirty work in the most dangerous parts of London. The locations make that split visible.
The very first scene was shot at The Midland Grand at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel — Pierce Brosnan's Conrad Harrigan dining calmly in the restaurant while a confrontation erupts in the kitchen below. Mortimore said: "It felt like a Sopranos moment." The Midland Grand is a Victorian Gothic marvel built in 1873, all carved stonework and vaulted ceilings.
The kitchen scene itself needed a different spot. Mortimore found a smoked fish factory in Chalk Farm that had the right scale. "There were a few complaints about the fish smell," he recalled. "I remember Tom Hardy came in, squeezed his nose and smiled."
Canning Town
East London gives MobLand its raw, street-level credibility. Canning Town in Newham is where the show's criminal machinery operates.
Moody's Gym — the neutral ground where Harry negotiates between the Harrigans and the Stevenson gang — is the Peacock Gym in Canning Town. The production moved some equipment around, changed the name, and filmed it largely as it was.
The nightclub where Eddie Harrigan's reckless night out folds in Canning Town, an industrial venue with a 24-hour licence. And opposite The O2, a riverside warehouse in Newham appears in nearly every episode.
The Tooke Arms pub on the Isle of Dogs appears as "The Sinful Monkey" — Richie Stevenson's base of operations.

Mayfair and the Savoy
Not all of the Harrigan world is industrial. Loulou's — the exclusive private members' club at 5 Hertford Street in Mayfair — is where Eddie's bloody West End night begins. The opulent restaurant in episode five is Bacchanalia Mayfair, a theatrical dining destination inspired by ancient Rome.
The Savoy Hotel's Royal Suite appears in episode two, when Bella Harrigan accepts a deal against Harry's wishes. The Savoy continues to appear across multiple episodes.
Harry Da Souza's apartment was filmed in a penthouse near Charing Cross Station. "Filming there was hard work," Mortimore said, "but it was worth it. The views are magnificent." The apartment sits at the geographic heart of London, equidistant from the East End underworld and the West End glamour — exactly where a fixer would need to be.
Gloucestershire, Bedfordshire, Hemel Hempstead and Antwerp
The Harrigans' sprawling country estate is Waverton House in Sezincote, Gloucestershire — a private residence near Stow-on-the-Wold, more than two hours' drive from London. Despite looking as though it belongs to the 18th century, the house was actually built between 1978 and 1980, set beside a lake. The stables seen in episode two are part of the same estate.
The barn warehouse with cobbled streets used during a car chase sequence is part of the Luton Hoo estate in Bedfordshire. Hospital scenes were filmed in a disused wing of Hemel Hempstead Hospital. Studio work took place at Elstree Film Studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.
Beyond the UK, production also shot in Antwerp, Belgium, whose medieval architecture and industrial port infrastructure on the River Scheldt provided the international dimension.
