From a crashed bus in Primrose Hill to Highcliffe beach: The UK filming locations of A Matter of Time
Matter of Time
On July 13, 2026, location managers for a film codenamed Karma had warned residents of Primrose Hill that roads would be closed while a red London bus crash was staged in Chalcot Road outside the Princess of Wales pub. And Ben Stiller was spotted running up and down the road looking, in the words of one local, "very distressed." And the folowwing day, he was in Dorset.
A Matter of Time is Sony Pictures and Netflix's fantasy drama directed by Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, Enola Holmes), co-written by Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire) and produced by Debra Hayward. It follows a reclusive man persuaded by an angel to sacrifice his life — who finds a new reason to live when he falls in love. Stiller plays the angel. Nicholas Galitzine and Bella Maclean are the couple whose lives hang in the balance. The production has been moving through London and England's south coast since early July, under the working title Karma.
Clerkenwell en Notting Hill
The production was spotted in London shooting scenes primarily around a local pub and a church marked with signage reading "Saint Peter's Community Centre." Stiller and Galitzine were both seen on set here. Amy Wren, Emma Sidi and Cecily Cleeve — confirmed in subsequent cast announcements — were also present.
On July 8, Ben Stiller and Nicholas Galitzine were spotted filming a scene in Notting Hill, on Golborne Road.

Chalcot Road, Primrose Hill
Chalcot Road was closed (6-10 July), a red London bus crash was staged outside the Princess of Wales pub, and the surrounding street was dressed from top to bottom: rebranded shops, a plastic flower stall on the corner, fresh graffiti on the wall. The Princess of Wales itself became a Greek restaurant — its signage replaced, its exterior transformed.
The filming schedule includes four days set up, five days filming in Princess Road, Edis Road, Manley Street and Chalcot Road, and three days to reinstate the streets to how they were.
It is worth noting what Chalcot Road's immediate neighbour has already given to cinema. Chalcot Crescent serves as the home of the Brown family in all three Paddington films, renamed Windsor Gardens.
Highcliffe, Dorset
On July 14 the production moved entirely to the Dorset coast. Ben Stiller was spotted on Highcliffe beach, talking to cast and crew and waiting to shoot a scene. Bella Maclean was seen running in and out of the sea on Highcliffe beach.
Film crew vehicles, including actors' personal trailers, were parked in the car park next to the Cliffhanger in the village. Signs warning the public about drone filming in progress were placed on the cliffs.
No release date has been confirmed. The cameras are still rolling.
