A tudor manor in Buckinghamshire and a church in Hertfordshire: The filming locations of I, Jack Wright
I, Jack Wright
I, Jack Wright was filmed primarily across Hertfordshire and London, with additional scenes shot in Paris. The English Home Counties provide exactly the right atmosphere for a story about what people will do when the money runs out. And the Wright family's grand country estate turns out to be a Grade I listed Tudor manor in Buckinghamshire that you can visit.
The Wright family's fictional country estate — called Marston Hall — is Chenies Manor House in Buckinghamshire. A Grade I listed Medieval and Tudor house, the oldest parts of the building dating from the 15th century, Chenies Manor is not a private secret. It is open to the public for visits and tours. The estate includes beautiful gardens set in different themes, an undercroft with underground tunnels, a priest hole, two mazes, an isolated farmhouse, extensive attics, and 400 acres of fields and woodland surrounding the main building.
Other productions that have filmed here include Enola Holmes, Silent Witness, Killing Eve, Spooks, Midsomer Murders, and Netflix's The Crown — which used Chenies to portray Chartwell House, Winston Churchill's home.
St Mary's Church, North Mymms, Hertfordshire
Jack's family gather to bury him in a church with big sun-filled windows. The church is St Mary's in North Mymms, Hertfordshire — a 13th-century Grade II* listed Anglican building whose interior and churchyard both feature in the series.
Filming took place both inside the church and in its grounds. St Mary's has previously appeared in The Crown and EastEnders which says something about the church's versatility.

Hertford, Watford and Elstree Studios
The wider production was based primarily in Hertfordshire. The main unit base was set up near Watford, with several areas around the town used for different scenes supporting the Wright family world. Filming also took place in Hertford itself — the Hertfordshire Film Office confirmed supporting filming in Hertford — while interior work and studio scenes were completed at Elstree Film Studios in Borehamwood, a few miles southwest.
London and Paris
Urban scenes were shot in London, including at Lincoln's Inn Fields — surrounded by Georgian terraces and the legal chambers of Lincoln's Inn.
Key scenes were shot in Paris, the production spent a few days in the city depicting Jack Wright's Parisian residence and his estranged wife's life there.
I, Jack Wright airs on BBC One and streams on BritBox. Season 2 is currently filming in the UK, with a late 2026 or early 2027 premiere expected.
