A Jewish deli, a high school auditorium and a mall in Paramus: The New Jersey filming locations of Don't Say Good Luck
Don't Say Good Luck
Nana's Deli on South Livingston Avenue was closed for a few days in early July 2025. A Netflix crew had turned the real Livingston Jewish deli into the fictional heart of Don't Say Good Luck. Over the following ten weeks, the production worked its way through Livingston, Ridgewood, Montclair, Paramus, Jersey City and Cranford.
The movie follows 15-year-old Sophie Birenbaum, played by Adam Sandlers daughter Sunny Sandler, navigating a school musical and her mother's terminal cancer diagnosis. Adam Sandler stayed in Montclair during the shoot.

Livingston
The production's most character-specific location is also its most specific address. Nana's Deli at 127 South Livingston Avenue in Livingston was temporarily repainted and rebranded as "Birenbaum's, EST 1985" to portray the Birenbaum family's Jewish deli. The deli closed briefly for filming and reopened on July 9.
Also in Livingston, Ilpoom restaurant was used as an additional filming location.

Ridgewood and Paramus
Benjamin Franklin Middle School in Ridgewood was used to shoot the film's focal high school theater and musical stage scenes — where Sophie rehearses, performs and processes everything happening at home.
Paramus Park Mall was selected for its shopping complex and indoor retail backdrops.
Jersey City and Cranford
Jersey City served as the primary production base from July 2, with crew and equipment operating across the city for much of the shoot. Maple Street in Cranford provided additional exterior street scenes..
Don't Say Good Luck premieres on Netflix on August 14, 2026.
