The dark forest is in Texas. You Can’t Leave – the supernatural horror thriller written and directed by Scott Windhauser – opened in US theatres in limited release on October 16, 2026, with an international digital release from November.
The film follows James (Spencer Boldman) – a young man searching for answers behind his sister’s mysterious disappearance. His journey leads him and a group of friends, including Olivia (Paola Andino), deep into a remote forest where they become trapped in a supernatural prison. Hunted by shadowy entities, the group is forced to confront both physical and psychological terror as they struggle to escape.
Boldman also serves as executive producer. The supporting cast includes Taylor Murphy, Cameron Inman, Kristos Andrews and Joe Nemmers. Produced by Robert Paschall Jr. and Austin Taylor for Guilder Cinema Group.

Production filmed across several communities in the Dallas–Fort Worth area of north Texas. Confirmed filming locations include Dallas, Flower Mound, Farmers Branch and Argyle.
