M. Night Shyamalan’s new supernatural romance Remain is currently filming in Rhode Island, and the state’s picturesque locations are taking center stage. From the first shoot at Coffee Depot in Warren to scenes aboard the Prudence Island ferry in Bristol, coastal New England is setting the tone for the film’s mysterious atmosphere.
One of the most striking transformations took place in Little Compton, where the historic Gray’s General Store—built in 1788—was turned into a charming, vintage bed-and-breakfast. With props like a tipped gumball machine and an oversized ice cream cone, the setting evokes both nostalgia and intrigue. Downtown Newport and Eisenhower Park have also been used, offering a mix of elegant and eerie backdrops that fit Shyamalan’s signature style.
